Transforming Organizations - My Passion!

In 2004, I started The Pool Doctors, Thailand's premier provider of swimming pool design, construction and maintenance services.  We were very grateful to be retained by Amari Hotels to be their single source of training for their head engineers country wide (training done in Thai language).

As a management consultant also, with several top tier firms (A.T. Kearney, Deloitte), I have been lucky and grateful to work on some truly change and value delivering projects.

My languages:

English

Level: Native speak / read / write

My communication skills here are excellent and aligned to strong project and people management.  With many years of cross cultural communication experience, I am comfortable in international enronments.  The best way to communicate is to listen, not speak.

Thai

Level: Excellent speaking, reading, writing

Hello, I have been in Thailand for about 30 years. I have no problem communicating with Thai people in Thai. I still enjoy learning Thai to this day. In particular, I like Thai expressions such as friends to eat with are easy to find, friends to die with are hard to find!

Japanese

Level: a bit rusy but it will take only a short time to regain fluency.

While working at Mitsubishi Motors in Tokyo, I was able to speak a very high level of Japanese. However, living in Thailand for a long time has caused my Japanese ability to deteriorate. If I could live in Tokyo for a month, I think I would be able to speak fluently again.

My Journey

I originally come from a very small town in the U.S.A.  I knew from a young age that I wanted to see the world and experience new cultures, languages, and ways of life outside of the USA.  Following graduation from Boston University, I drove an old, beat-up 2nd hard car to California at age 22 years old to start the journey!

I have now been living abroad mostly for the last 30 years, and the experience has been absolutely wonderful.  I do not regret any decisions made in my life.  I am married to a wonderful Thai woman, and I have 2 great kids.   Vivre sa vie à fond!
